I have been fortunate to work with so many wonderful people over the last 15 years, from pre/post op for hip, knee and shoulder surgeries, rehabbing broken bones, and even helping one perfect his golf game. I look forward to serving my clients in the Edmonton area for a long time to come.

About me. (Kera Amero)

I've always been an active person whether it was doing track and field or gymnastic. I felt like I needed to be moving. But I never took "exercising for my health" seriously until a car accident in 2010. Instantly everything changed. I could no longer do the fun sports or activities that came so easy to me, without great pain and difficulty. I was going to a chiropractor 3 days a week and physical therapy twice a week just to be able to move without pain. Even doing my desk job at the time was horribly painful.


 It wasn't until a smart physical therapist that took very little pity on me and asked me "what I was doing to make myself better?". At the time it was a whole lot of nothing, just sitting on the couch and feeling sorry for myself. He told me the only way I was going to feel better and get my life back was to actually put effort and time into stretching and strengthening my body.  It was not easy, but it did pay off in the end. I learned a lot along the way, mostly that I loved helping and learning how everyone is different in what works for them. I've spent the last 12 years working with very unique individuals, guiding them along their journey to rehabilitation. All the while expanding my expertise and learning to help my clients live a pain free life by strengthening their bodies and building healthy habits.

My best advice I can give is never give up. Where there is a will there is a way.

As a shift worker I haven't always had time or inclination to workout. After my shifts I was tired and it was easy to find excuses to not workout. I did not know where to start, or how to accomplish my goals. Meeting Kera has helped kick start my fitness goals. I realized that my expectations were sometime unrealistic. With Kera's help, I've learned to make smaller goals that are achievable.

I was not always able to see the results of my hard work and would always get discouraged. It wasn't until I saw progress pictures of myself that I realized I had made progress. It was due to the fun challenging workouts and encouragement from Kera, that made it possible.

I had the motivation to lose weight for my daughter's wedding. I was overweight, out of breath with minimal exertion, had pain in my knees and lower back due to osteoarthritis. I needed to not only lose weight but eat healthy. Exercise has never been a lifestyle for me, so I needed someone I could trust to design me a program that met my needs and dealt with my injuries.

After working with Kera for only a few sessions I knew I had hit the jackpot in getting a great trainer. She literally helped change my life; she is friendly, enthusiastic, and a really knowledgeable person. With her qualifications she really understood what I was dealing with.  I started to see a real difference in my energy levels, as well as the pain in my knees. I felt stronger and I was even shocked when my doctor said I didn't require knee surgery anymore or need to wear my giant leg brace that I had been wearing for years. Since starting with Kera I have lost 30 pounds and have less pain then I could have ever imagined.

In the last 6 years, I gradually put my fitness at the bottom of my priority list as I had 2 children and moved into a big house. I started eating for comfort and to relieve stress. I kept feeling guilty about spending time on my health away from my children. I tried to exercise at home by myself, but there were so many distractions, I was not consistent enough to see results.

When I met Kera she was so considerate from the very beginning. She was always listening to any concerns I may have. She completely transformed my body to be able to handle all of my day to day tasks and more. I am able to keep up with my kids and that is priceless to me! Instead of being tired all the time and turning down my kids requests to play now I jump up and look forward to it.

I feel so empowered to be able to do more now than I was able to do in my 20's and Kera's encouragement and belief in me made it all happen.
